Melissa is a licensed speech language pathologist in New Jersey and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Over the past 9 years, Melissa has worked with students with a range of language and communication challenges in both public and private schools. In working at various public-school districts in New Jersey she gained experience being a case manager and Child Study Team member. Through her participation on the Child Study Team, she developed an understanding of special education law in New Jersey. Additionally, her role as a case manager contributed to her belief that communication and coordination between providers, teachers, and family members is essential to positive therapeutic outcomes.
Melissa has extensive experience working with preschool through adolescent aged individuals diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Her experience working in a Life Skills program helped further her understanding and implementation of using augmentative communication to functionally support her students across all environments. In addition to her therapeutic experience, Melissa has performed many diagnostic assessments involving both formal and informal assessment of speech, language, and pragmatic skills.
Melissa is currently employed at Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey whereby she supports students in the Learning Center improve their reading and writing skills.
Melissa currently resides in Bergenfield with her husband and three children.
