Freda is a licensed and certified speech pathologist in New Jersey.
A native New Yorker, Freda’s clinical fellowship was completed at the St. Francis School for the Deaf with toddlers and preschoolers, followed by four years at Brookdale Hospital working in acute and long term care settings with head trauma and stroke patients.
Freda further expanded her skill set by working for four years with blind toddlers and preschoolers at the Lighthouse for the Blind and by working with mild-moderately language impaired children, as well as children along the autistic spectrum at the Village Child Development Center. Following her family’s move to New Jersey, Freda joined the nationally acclaimed Therapeutic Nursery at the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly, New Jersey, which served children and their parents in a unique interdisciplinary program.
In 1999, Freda joined her partners as they ventured to fulfill their dream of establishing a private practice. Freda especially enjoys working with the youngest clients through early elementary grades. Particular areas of interest include working with children with language delays, dyspraxia, and autistic spectrum disorders. Freda coordinates and runs small social skills groups for children presenting with difficulties in developing play skills, and establishing and maintaining social interactions.
In her free time, Freda enjoys the company of her husband, children, and dog Zeke. She unwinds with community projects, walking, biking, theater, and a good book at the beach.
