Having started working in the fields of entertainment industry production and corporate communications, Deirdre is excited about her “second career” as an academic therapist. In August of 2015, she was conferred with her Master's Degree in Education, from William Paterson University, with a focus on being a Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Currently and for the past several years, she has held the role of lead general education teacher in a classroom, although she is dually certified as both a general and special education teacher. She has been a tutor and teacher for several years, and she prides herself on having spent countless hours planning students' individualized lessons. Knowledge of grammar is one of her specialties, in addition to being a Dyslexia specialist and Orton-Gillingham practitioner. She also teaches her students to search out answers when they are at a loss, which strengthens their independence and confidence. She has a passion for seeing that light bulb turn on in a child's mind and then seeing their eyes light up when they have succeeded after struggling.
